The Howe High School was built in 1915 to accommodate the town's growing student population that the Old Howe building could no longer support. The class of 1959 was the last to complete school here.
In 1985, the town first began to consider moving its municipal offices here. At the end of 1986, the Central Fire Headquarters opened in the refurbished gymnasium and shops of the former school, and in 1989, the town completed moving all of its offices to this location.
